I just wanted to quickly say that yesterday's mock interview session was the most beneficial class we have had thus far. It helped prepare us by showing how the process actually works, as well as giving us much insight into the types of questions to expect and the types of responses that our interviewers expect to recieve, either in terms of depth, terminology, and connection with standards.
From hearing others' responses to some of the small session Q & A's I feel confident that we are all on the right track to being highly successful in the interview for our various boards. Congratulations everyone on a job well done.
I would like to thank our counsellors for arranging such a beneficial afternoon and I look forward to seeing what our next professional days bring for us.

I completely agree with the previous comment. I think the experience was truly beneficial, and I am thankful we had the opportunity to hear from both the Public and Catholic Boards so all the information applied to our entire counselling group.
I thought breaking off and working in small groups with the principals was great, and provided us even more insight into the entire process. As well, having the chance to answer interview questions and receive feedback was extremely helpful- I couldnt believe how nervous I was to answer one question in front of my small group- but it was extremely helpful, and I feel we all took some great things out of the day.
I'm not sure if I feel it was very beneficial b/c I am applying to the DSBN, so the informatio applied to myself. I just hope the experience helped everyone else in the counselling group as well.
I really enjoyed the experience of the mock interviews. I thought it was very beneficial. It made me realize that much preparation is needed in order to have a success interview. My biggest challenge was answering my question in front of my peers. I did not realize how nervous I was until I began to answer my question. A suggestion for the future would be to allow more time for us in groups with the principals.
I find that regardless of what board you will be applying to, it was useful to see an example of a possible interview/see questions that are pretty generic to most boards.
I do feel that the time in small groups was more beneficial for me and there should ahve been more time devoted to this. I am not going to deny that it was good to see a peer go through a mock interview, but I feel that the time with the principal in a small group is where the majority of the time may have been better spent.
