Voice and the Teacher Workshop

As a teacher, you will be consistently faced with losing your voice--just a part of the teaching world! Brock Education is underwriting a three-hour voice workshop presented by Janin Pearson. This means the cost to YOU is only $25. This may be the best $25 you could ever spend!

Here's the official notice:

VOICE AND THE TEACHER
Teachers without voices cannot teach. Every year, many teachers have to stop teaching for short or long periods due to vocal problems: stress caused by improper use and care of their voices. Yet in the opinion of some researchers in this field, some 75% of all vocal problems can be self-managed. All it takes is knowledge.

I am pleased to offer you the opportunity to attend a three-hour workshop on "Voice and the Teacher", to be presented by Janine Pearson, Head of Voice and Coaching at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival. This practical workshop will cover how the voice is produced, how to care for your voice, and how to manage vocal stress and colds. You will also be led through producing your voice properly and developing a warmup for your voice that will keep you talking and teaching throughout your career.

With the addition of some Faculty funding, cost of the workshop is $25.00.

You may choose either of two dates: Wednesday, January 16, 3:00 - 6:00 PM Wednesday, January 23, 3:00 - 6:00 PM Location: Gymnasium, Hamilton Campus
